Alex Rodriguez pinch-hit in the eighth inning Saturday, his first regular-season appaearance in front of his hometown fans.
Rodriguez originally was scheduled to skip the first two games of the series. Before the game, Yankees manager Joe Girardi addressed A-Rod's absence from the lineup and reiterated it was because of fatigue.
