Russ Adams hit a solo home run and finished with two runs batted in, as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the New York Yankees, 6-2, in Grapefruit League play.
Travis Snider also hit a solo shot for the Blue Jays, while Raul Chavez went 2-for-2 with one of Toronto's four doubles. Brad Mills gave up two runs on four hits in 3 2/3 innings in the start.
Andy Pettitte got the start for the Yankees, and was sharp in 1 2/3 frames, allowing only one hit and a walk, while striking out two. Dan Giese followed Pettitte and gave up one run in 2 1/3 innings, but Ian Kennedy took the loss after surrendering five runs in 2 2/3 innings of work.
Brett Gardner fueled the Yankees' offense Monday with a two-run homer as part of a two-hit day.
